In 1899, a populist movement known as theYihequan(Fists of Harmony and Justice) erupted across China. Practicing martial arts and driven by fierce nationalism, the group sought to drive out foreign influence. Known to the West as the “Boxers,” they laid siege toPeking (Beijing), trapping diplomats, soldiers, and civilians within the foreign Legations compound.

The crisis prompted a rapid response by theEight Nation Alliance—including Britain, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Italy, the United States, and Austro-Hungary—who fought through brutal urban resistance to relieve the city in August 1900.

This 30-figure kit captures the spirit of theBoxer Rebellionwith parts to build martial artists, irregular militia, and even eliteTigermenandKansu Braves. It’s also adaptable for other conflicts in late Qing Dynasty China.
