TRP05517 1:35 Trumpeter Russian BTR-40 APC #5517

The BTR-40 was a Soviet non-amphibious, wheeled armored personnel carrier and reconnaissance vehicle and is the first mass-produced Soviet APC. The design was based on the GAZ-63 four wheel drive truck which went into production in 1946 and included a self-bearing body which was a new feature in Soviet vehicles. The hull has two side doors for the commander and driver and a back door. The vehicle can transport up to eight fully equipped soldiers or 1 ton of cargo. Later it was replaced by the BTR-152.
Kit consists of over 230 parts on 6 sprues plus rubber tires and photo-etched parts.
