It’s dark… everything is silent and cold… it all seems to last an eternity. Suddenly, the game master turns the lights back on; intruders have just entered the tomb! Skeletons is a narrative and participatory role-playing game for 1 to 6 players. You play a skeleton tasked with being the eternal guardian of a tomb and the treasures it contains. At various points in the game, intruders will enter the guarded place, and you will fight to drive them out. After each breach, an event is drawn on a board, indicating what happened and what is unfolding in your haven between intrusions. The game also invites you to reflect, after each event, on what happened to your character in life, to discover their story, the reason for their eternal existence. The skeletons offered are varied: war hero, former leader, high priest, sacred stag, Frankenstein’s monster… depending on the description and the questions you answer, you will create your past. There’s no real game system or dice; the idea is to imagine everything, even how the intrusions will unfold! At the beginning of the game, imagine the place you are guarding, even drawing up a map. Then, between events, the GM will turn off the lights and ask you to remain silent for a period of time that varies depending on how much time has passed! A role-playing game in the truest sense of the word, highly original and frankly refreshing.
