The Turbostar was a major commercial success for Iveco. Thanks to its robustness, reliability, and performance, it established a significant position in the European truck market and was the most widely used industrial vehicle in Italy in the late 1980s. It was available in numerous versions and configurations to precisely and appropriately meet the needs of the user companies. The Turbostar achieved its greatest commercial success with the two-axle “road tractor” version, a segment in which it became a benchmark in the 1980s. In 1983, Iveco launched the 190.38 “Cowboy,” characterized by its striking American-style exhausts, a roof spoiler, and numerous details and options, both aesthetic and related to on-board comfort. The “Cowboy” is one of the most attractive and, even today, the most sought-after trucks in the Iveco range from that period.
