This insidious device is designed for outright destruction, but it is covered with a sophisticated armored casing that allows it to precisely identify its prey, target its weak points, and evade detection. A dishonorable weapon by nature, it is perhaps less favored by Starchiefs, though most have few qualms about deploying it against inferior races unworthy of respect. The rarer Makibishi Impel mine is designed to slow, disrupt, and immobilize ships with an intense hypergravity pulse upon detonation. This deforms superstructures, stops millions of tons of momentum, and can even knock spaceships off course.
