One of Lon Chaney Jr.’s most memorable roles, that of Charis from the classic 1942 film “The Mummy’s Tomb,” is now immortalized in this 1/8-scale model kit from X Plus! The image of Lon Chaney Jr. is authorized through a license agreement with Chaney Entertainment, resulting in a startlingly accurate portrait of the horror-film icon in full makeup as the unfortunate Charis. Charis, who committed a crime and was mummified alive as punishment, is resurrected to take revenge; the decaying bandages that wrap his entire body reflect the long 3,000 years he was confined to his coffin. The display base recreates the pyramid’s interior seen at the beginning of the film, with rough stone walls and a fallen torch to add to the atmosphere.
