About the Actual Aircraft

The F-15 Eagle is a U.S. Air Force fighter known as the world’s most powerful air superiority fighter.

It first flew in 1972, entered service in 1976, and remains a globally recognized fighter in active service today. The F-15C is the most widely produced of these aircraft.

Featuring a clipped delta wing and two vertical tails, it is powered by two Pratt & Whitney F100 turbofan engines. It boasts high speeds exceeding Mach 2, powerful acceleration, and excellent turning ability. It is also equipped with an electronic warfare system and can carry a variety of missiles, including the AIM-120 air-to-air missile. It boasts exceptional capabilities as a high-speed, highly maneuverable air superiority fighter.

Although it has been in service for many years, various updates have been implemented, maintaining its capabilities to this day.

About the Product

Platz’s 1/72 scale F-15 Eagle plastic model assembly kit, highly acclaimed among aircraft model enthusiasts, is now available in its second installment: a U.S. Air Force version.

This kit accurately recreates the early F-15C, incorporating new parts.

The exhaust nozzle shape enhances the sharp rear view. The detailed finish is unique to this early model. Of course, the already acclaimed fuselage shape and panel lines are faithfully reproduced for a realistic finish. The attention to detail, including the intricately recreated landing gear, is not to be missed. Furthermore, the cockpit, down to the instrument panel and seat, is reproduced in the detailed detail you’d expect from a 1/72 scale model, resulting in a truly realistic finish. The markings are based on those used by the 18th Tactical Fighter Wing (18TFW) based at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa in the early 1980s. The “Shogun” marking, depicting a Japanese warrior wearing a helmet, is a must-have.
